Accessing settings

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the header to open Settings. Settings are organised into four tabs.

General settings

Configure your workspace basics:

Accounting method

Pick the way your business keeps its books:
  • Money in and out (Cash): a sale counts when you’re paid, a bill when you pay it.
  • Invoices and bills (Accrual): a sale counts when you invoice it, a bill when you get it.
Your dashboard opens on this method, and eggheadz uses it to answer questions about spending and profit. A business that hasn’t picked one counts on Money in and out (Cash). You can change it any time; click Save changes after you do. Each person can pin their own view on the dashboard instead. A pin changes what that person sees and how eggheadz counts for them; this setting stays as it is. See Understanding your three reporting views. In the Chrome extension, once you’re signed in, Settings > eggz account has an Accounting method row. It opens Settings > General in the eggz web app, in a new tab.

Billing

View and manage your subscription:
  • See your current plan and usage: documents and AI messages both count against your plan
  • Upgrade or downgrade your plan
  • Turn on Auto top-up to buy a document pack whenever fewer than 5 documents are left. It isn’t offered on Scale, where documents are unlimited; if it was on when you moved to Scale, Billing keeps the switch so you can turn it off.

Plans and prices

Founding member prices are yearly only, for the first 100 founding members. The Yearly column is the regular price.

Plan limits

  • Documents refill every month on Solo, Growth and Business, whether you are billed monthly or yearly. Free’s 50 documents are granted once and do not refill. See Document limits.
  • AI messages are shared by your workspace each month, and each person can send up to the daily number. When the month’s messages run out, eggz offers an upgrade first. If you’d rather not upgrade, the assistant pauses until your allowance resets.
  • AI messages a minute count any 60 seconds. Send more than that and the chat tells you how many seconds until you can ask again.
  • A message over your plan’s characters isn’t sent. Your words stay in the box, so you can shorten it or split it in two.
  • Connected platforms are the accounts you connect, such as Xero and Gmail.
  • Team members are enforced: once your team reaches your plan’s number, counting invites not yet accepted, the next invite is refused. Nobody already on your team is removed.

Manage your team:
  • Invite new members to your workspace by email
  • View current team members and their roles
  • Remove members who no longer need access
User management is powered by WorkOS. Invited users receive an email to create their account or sign in with an existing one.

Integrations

Every integration is one card: its name, one line saying how it stands, and the one button you need right now. Rarer actions sit behind ⋯ at the top right of a card.

Email-in

  • Copy your workspace’s eggz address
  • Trusted senders: click to open the list and add or remove senders
  • ⋯ > Change address to pick a new address
  • Emails held back and Purchases to review show on the card while there are some

Gmail

  • Connect Gmail, then add the eggz Nest label to an email in Gmail and it lands in eggz as a pending receipt
  • ⋯ > Manage connection to disconnect Gmail

Xero

  • Connect (or Reconnect) your Xero organisation
  • Xero settings: click to open Synced data (refresh customers, chart of accounts, invoices, bills, quotes and your financial year), Account mappings and Branding themes
  • ⋯ > Disconnect Xero, after you confirm

Bank feed

  • Connect your bank to bring its payments into Expenses, on the Bank payments tab
  • Renew bank feed shows on the card from 14 days before the bank feed needs renewing
  • ⋯ > Disconnect bank, after you confirm. The payments already in eggz stay

Xero and Gmail can be set up during onboarding or at any time from this settings page.
