What you can do

eggz works as an app inside your AI assistant. Drop a receipt or bill into ChatGPT or Claude. Your assistant reads it, eggz assigns a category to every line, and you get an editable card. Save it and it goes straight into your eggz account, with no switching tabs and no typing it in.
You can try it without an eggz account. Extraction runs as a guest preview; your bills are only saved once you sign in.

Open your assistant's connectors or apps

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.

Add eggz

Choose eggz from the directory, or add it by its connector URL if you’re an early-access user. (eggz is rolling out to the ChatGPT app and Claude connector directories.)

No sign-in is needed to start — you’re only asked to sign in when you save your first bill.

Capture a bill

Share your document

Ask eggz to capture a bill and attach the file. ChatGPT or Claude reads the document itself and hands eggz the details it found, so the file types and sizes it accepts are your assistant’s, not eggz’s. You can send up to 10 bills in one capture.

eggz categorises

Your assistant reads the supplier, dates, line items, amounts and tax. eggz assigns an expense category to each line from its fixed list and recalculates the line totals, subtotal and total.

Review and edit the card

An interactive card appears. Edit the supplier, reference, issue date, due date, descriptions and amounts, change any category, expand a bill to review its lines, or remove one. Totals update as you go. A supplier, an issue date and at least one line item are required. Everything else is optional.

Save to eggz

Select Save to eggz, or Sign in to save if you’re not signed in yet. Sign in (or sign up in one tap) and your bills save. Once they have saved, the card says Your bills have been saved to eggz. and shows an Open in eggz link to Expenses. If the save fails, the card offers Try again.
Capturing several invoices? Upload them together and review them as a batch — each bill keeps its own categories and totals.

What the card shows

Reading a document isn’t perfect. Always review the card before saving, especially totals on faded or photographed receipts.

Where your bills go

Saved bills land in Expenses in the eggz web app, ready to publish to Xero like any other document. The categories you choose map to your Xero accounts when you reconcile.

Privacy

Documents you share are used only to extract your bill. Nothing is saved to an eggz account until you sign in and choose Save to eggz.

FAQ

ChatGPT and Claude (any host that supports the Model Context Protocol apps/connectors standard). eggz is rolling out to their app and connector directories. eggz Tab Manager & Bill Capture has its own assistant built in, so you do not need a connector for that one: see AI assistant & the command bar.
That depends on ChatGPT or Claude. They read the file and send eggz the details, so eggz sets no file type or size limit here. Uploading a file in the eggz web app has its own limits: see document upload.

That’s expected the first time, because saving needs an eggz account. Select Sign in to save, sign in (or sign up in one tap), and your reviewed bills save. Your edits on the card are kept.
Make sure the file actually attached, then ask eggz to capture the bill again. If the card still doesn’t show, start a fresh message (or reload the conversation) and re-share the document.
Edit it directly on the card before saving. Change the supplier, any line, or the category, and totals recalculate automatically. A quick review is always worth it.
