What you can do

eggz works as an app inside your AI assistant. Drop a receipt or bill into ChatGPT or Claude and eggz reads it, auto-categorises every line, and shows you an editable card — then saves it straight into your eggz account. No switching tabs, no manual data entry.
You can try it without an eggz account. Extraction runs as a guest preview; your bills are only saved once you sign in.

Connect eggz to your assistant

1

Open your assistant's connectors or apps

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
2

Add eggz

Choose eggz from the directory, or add it by its connector URL if you’re an early-access user. (eggz is rolling out to the ChatGPT app and Claude connector directories.)
3

You're ready

No sign-in is needed to start — you’re only asked to sign in when you save your first bill.

Capture a bill

1

Share your document

Ask eggz to capture a bill and attach the file(s) — PDF or image (PNG, JPEG, WebP). You can send several at once.
2

eggz extracts and categorises

eggz reads the supplier, dates, line items, amounts and tax, and assigns an expense category to each line automatically.
3

Review and edit the card

An interactive card appears. Edit the supplier, dates, descriptions and amounts, change any category, expand a bill to review its lines, or remove one. Totals update as you go. Only a supplier, a currency and at least one line item are required — everything else is optional.
4

Save to eggz

Select Save to eggz. If you’re not signed in yet, your assistant prompts you to connect eggz — sign in (or sign up in one tap) and it saves automatically. Your bills appear in Expenses.
Capturing several invoices? Upload them together and review them as a batch — each bill keeps its own categories and totals.

What eggz extracts

FieldNotes
SupplierName (and tax/ABN if shown on the document)
DatesIssue date and due date
Line itemsDescription, quantity, unit price, and line total
CategoryAuto-assigned per line; fully editable
TotalsSubtotal, tax/GST, and total — recalculated as you edit
AI extraction isn’t perfect — always review the card before saving, especially totals on faded or photographed receipts.

Where your bills go

Saved bills land in Expenses in the eggz web app, ready to publish to Xero like any other document. The categories you choose map to your Xero accounts when you reconcile.
Prefer to capture bills straight from your browser? The Unscrambled Tabs Chrome extension enters this same capture pipeline and consumes the same document processing credits as dashboard uploads — see Connect your eggz account.

Privacy

Documents you share are used only to extract your bill. Nothing is saved to an eggz account until you sign in and choose Save to eggz.

FAQ

ChatGPT and Claude (any host that supports the Model Context Protocol apps/connectors standard). eggz is rolling out to their app and connector directories; an in-assistant chat for the eggz Chrome extension is planned for later.
PDF, PNG, JPEG, and WebP — the same formats as document upload in the web app.
No. Extraction and the editable card work as a guest preview. You only sign in (one tap) when you save, which creates your account if you don’t already have one.
Yes. Share multiple files and review them as a batch; remove any you don’t want before saving.
In Expenses in the eggz web app, ready to review and publish to Xero.
That’s expected the first time — saving needs an eggz account. Sign in (or sign up in one tap) when your assistant prompts you, and your reviewed bills save automatically. Your edits on the card are kept.
Make sure the file actually attached, then ask eggz to capture the bill again. If the card still doesn’t show, start a fresh message (or reload the conversation) and re-share the document.
Edit it directly on the card before saving — change the supplier, any line, or the category, and totals recalculate automatically. AI extraction isn’t perfect, so a quick review is always worth it.
