Catch bills in the wild

Bills are sneaky. They hide in your email, on supplier websites, and inside PDFs you open and forget about. Unscrambled Tabs helps you grab them the moment you see them — no “I’ll deal with it later” pile required.
This feature needs you to be signed in to eggz, since that’s where your captured bills go.

The “looks like a bill” banner

When you land on a page that looks like an invoice or a bill — including PDFs opened right in Chrome — a little banner slides in at the top of the side panel and offers to save it for you.
1

Open a bill or invoice

Visit a supplier’s invoice page, or open a bill PDF in your browser.
2

Spot the banner

A banner pops up offering to capture the page. It’s polite — if you ignore it, it tidies itself away after a few seconds.
3

Send it to eggz

Click to capture. The extension takes a picture of the page and sends it straight into your eggz organisation.
The capture uses the same upload pipeline and credits as the dashboard, so your bill lands in Expenses and starts being read automatically — supplier, amounts, tax and all. See Uploading documents for what happens after.
Switched tabs and the banner vanished? No drama. It clears itself when you move to a different tab so it never follows you around. Just go back to the bill page and it’ll offer again.

The gentle “capture any bills?” nudge

The AI assistant also keeps a light touch on this. If you’ve been hopping around a few different supplier or shop websites, the chat may show a suggestion chip like “You’ve visited supplier.com today — capture any bills?” Tap it and your message is pre-filled, ready to go. It only shows up after you’ve visited a couple of sites recently, so it’s a friendly heads-up, not a pushy salesperson.

What gets sent (and what doesn’t)

Keeping it honest:
  • The capture sends a screenshot of the page you’re on to your eggz organisation — only when you click to capture.
  • The “looks like a bill” check happens on your computer. Pages aren’t sent anywhere just for being looked at.
  • Your everyday browsing is not uploaded. Nothing leaves your browser until you choose to capture.
The bill-detector is smart, but not psychic. It may occasionally wave at a page that isn’t really a bill — just ignore the banner and it’ll disappear. And since a capture is a photo of the whole page, double-check there’s nothing private on screen before you send.

If your credits run out

Bills are captured with the same document credits as the rest of eggz. If your organisation runs out, the capture card shows an upgrade prompt with a link to Billing. Top up and you’re back in business.
