# eggz Tab Manager

> eggz Tab Manager & Bill Capture, the Chrome extension for browser workspaces, drag-and-drop tab filing, session snapshots, memory tools and an AI assistant

It is Tuesday, you have four jobs on the go, and thirty tabs open. Nine of them belong to Birdsong Pottery. Six belong to Marchmont Cafe. The rest you cannot account for, and closing any of them feels risky, so you keep the lot and the whole browser gets slower.

eggz Tab Manager is the Chrome extension that sorts that out. In this part of the Help Centre you will learn to save a set of tabs under a name, switch between those sets, and file a stray tab where it belongs.

  What is eggz Tab Manager?

eggz Tab Manager & Bill Capture is the Chrome extension half of eggz. The web app at [app.eggz.ai](https://app.eggz.ai) is where you sign in for your books. The extension lives inside Chrome and looks after your browser instead: saved workspaces you can switch between, a place to file stray tabs, and controls for the memory that a hundred open tabs eats.

Click the button in your toolbar and it opens over the page you are reading. [Connect your eggz account](/help/unscrambled-tabs/eggz-account) and you also get the AI assistant (there is no key to paste), document upload and [bill capture](/help/unscrambled-tabs/capture-bills).

## Who it is for

If you keep many tabs open across many projects, this gives you saved workspaces to switch between, and a way to file a stray tab in one drag rather than bookmarking it and forgetting it.

If you are the sort of person who has already lost a session once, you also get snapshots to rewind to, duplicate clean-up, and memory controls that keep your tabs on the strip while freeing the RAM behind them.

## At a glance

| Two ways to open it | The toolbar button opens either a floating card over the page (nothing on the page moves) or Chrome's docked side panel. **Settings → Open as** picks which.                                       |
| Workspaces          | Named workspaces with colours, icons, folders, pinning and archiving, one per Chrome window. Switching brings everything back: tab groups, pinned tabs, custom tab names, and the tab you were on. |

eggz Tab Manager is the extension: browser productivity, [installed from the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/unscrambled-tabs/gfjdjhpcemmakhoaggnihfcohkmfcfcc).

They are designed to work together, but you do not need an eggz account for the extension's workspace and tab features.

## Official Chrome API reference

Tab unloading is built on Chrome's [`tabs.discard`](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/reference/api/tabs) API. Unloaded tabs stay visible, and when you activate one, Chrome reloads the page like a normal refresh.
