# Connect your eggz account

> One login shared with the eggz web app — upload documents and chat with the CRM agent from the side panel

## One login, both surfaces

Unscrambled Tabs can connect to your **eggz** account. You sign in **once** — in the extension or in the [web app](https://app.eggz.ai) — and both surfaces share the same session:

* Sign in from the extension and you are also signed in at `app.eggz.ai`.
* Already signed in to the web app? The side panel detects your session automatically — no extra clicks.
* Signing out on either surface signs you out of both.

Connecting an account is **optional** for the browser side of things — workspaces, performance modes, snapshots, and backup all work without it. Signing in is what unlocks the **AI assistant**, document upload, and bill capture.

## Sign in

1. Open the side panel and choose **Sign in to eggz** (on the AI tab or in **Settings → eggz account**).
2. A browser tab opens with the eggz login. Sign in as usual.
3. The success page closes itself and the side panel shows your account within a few seconds.

  The extension never stores passwords or tokens. Your session lives in a secure browser cookie on `app.eggz.ai` — the same one the web app uses.

### No organization yet?

If your account has no organization (for example, you just signed up), finish **onboarding in the web app** first — see [Getting started](/help/guides/onboarding). Uploads and CRM chat need an organization to belong to.

## Upload documents from the side panel

When you are signed in, the side panel can send bills, receipts, and invoices straight into your eggz organization:

* **Upload document** — pick a **PDF, JPEG, PNG, or WebP** file up to **10MB**.
* **Send tab screenshot** — captures the current tab (for example, an invoice open in webmail) and uploads it as an image.

Uploads use the **same document credits and extraction pipeline** as the web app — the file appears in your dashboard like any other upload, and extraction starts automatically. See [Uploading documents](/help/guides/uploading-documents) for what happens next.

If your organization has used all its document credits, the upload card shows an upgrade prompt with a link to **Billing**.

## AI assistant included

Signing in unlocks the **AI assistant with no API key**. There's just **one chat** now — no modes to switch between — and it handles both your eggz books (bills, invoices, quotes, accounts, receipts) *and* your tabs and workspaces (chat, **Organize**, save-resources). It's all covered by your eggz plan — see [AI assistant & search](/help/unscrambled-tabs/ai-and-search). Fair-use limits apply; if your organisation is unusually heavy the assistant will ask you to upgrade (and you can [invite a friend](/help/unscrambled-tabs/ai-and-search#when-you-run-low-on-ai-credits) for free credits).

## Shared credits

Document processing credits belong to your **organization**, not the surface you upload from. An upload from the extension consumes the same credits as an upload from the dashboard. See your plan in **Settings → Billing** in the web app.

## Sign out

Use **Settings → eggz account → Sign out** in the side panel, or sign out of the web app — either ends the shared session everywhere.

## Troubleshooting

* **"Your eggz session has expired"** — sign in again from the side panel. Sessions end after periods of inactivity or when you sign out elsewhere.
* **Sign-in tab opened but the panel did not update** — the extension also checks your session in the background; give it a few seconds, or close and reopen the side panel.
* **Blocked cookies** — the shared login relies on the browser cookie for `app.eggz.ai`. If you block all cookies for that site in Chrome settings (`chrome://settings/cookies`), the extension cannot see your session — allow cookies for `app.eggz.ai`.
* **Stuck signed out on a work profile** — some managed Chrome profiles restrict extension network access; try the same flow in a personal profile to confirm.
